Crop PDF
Remove white margins or keep only an area: a frame to move over the page, margins in millimetres, automatic content detection, for all pages, some pages or just one.
How to use this tool
- 1
Drop the PDF you want to crop.
- 2
Set the frame on the preview, type the margins or click “Detect content”.
- 3
Choose all pages, the displayed page or a selection of pages.
- 4
Click “Crop PDF” and download the result.
Help
- Move the frame or its eight handles on the preview (with a finger too), or type margins in millimetres. The darkened part will be removed; change page with the arrows to check.
- “Detect content” computes margins that surround text and images with a 3 mm safety; on “all pages” they keep every page's content.
- Apply the crop to all pages, to the displayed page or to a selection (1-3, 5, 8-). The same margins apply to every chosen page: if their sizes differ, check the result.
- By default only the visible area changes: the removed content stays hidden in the file. Tick “Also shrink the page size” to change the real format. To erase sensitive information, don't rely on cropping: it hides without deleting. A protected PDF must be unlocked first.
Frequently asked questions
Is the cropped content deleted from the file?
No, except perhaps if you tick “Also shrink the page size”: even then, data may remain in the file. Cropping reframes the display; it is not a way to censor information.
Can I crop each page differently?
The same margins apply to the chosen pages. For different margins, make a first pass on some pages, download, then reopen the result to handle the others.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping runs in your browser: the document is never uploaded, stored or analysed, and your original file stays intact.
