How is the word count calculated?
The text is split into words using the rules of the language detected by your browser: spaces, punctuation and apostrophes are handled correctly, including for Arabic.
Are spaces counted in the characters?
Two totals are given: “Characters” includes spaces and line breaks, “No spaces” excludes them.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. Everything is computed in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
