Resize Image

Help: Resize Image

  • Three methods: exact pixel dimensions, a percentage of the original size, or a preset (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, HD, 4K…).
  • “Keep proportions” prevents any distortion: enter the width and the height is worked out for you.
  • With a preset, “Fill” crops to the center to get exactly the size you want; “Fit” keeps the whole image.
  • Several images at once: the same rule is applied to each. Resizing uses the high-quality pica algorithm (Lanczos).
  • Pick the output format (JPG, PNG, WebP) and the quality; images above 100 megapixels are refused.

Frequently asked questions

How do I shrink a photo to 1080 px wide?

Use “By pixels”, enter 1080 as the width and leave proportions locked: the height is calculated so nothing is distorted.

Does enlarging an image make it sharper?

No: the image is carefully interpolated but no detail is invented. A big enlargement stays soft; tick “Do not enlarge” to avoid it in a batch.

Do my images leave my device?

No. Resizing runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
